The film descibes five different facets of a young man’s life. Five ways, four stories, one café and one song.

This is my Final Year Project at University.

Flux Arts production exposes art through art.
It is the first project using an artist and expose his art with a drama.

The songwriter in the film is an actual songwriter in real life. He wrote and composed the whole score.
The song 'The View' in the end is also written by him. Ed Hoyland lend his voice for the track. The song will be available for download soon.

I created this short piece a couple of years back for a performance. I found it again and did a few changes. Thought I put it up.

RECORD KICKS is delighted to introduce its latest signing HANNAH WILLIAMS & THE TASTEMAKERS, a brand new deep funk & soul combo from the South Coast of the UK that has already gained praise from DJs such as Craig Charles (Funk & Soul Soul on BBC6) and Nik Weston (Mukatsuku / Guynamukat). Fronted by sensational soul diva Hannah Williams, whose warm and husky tones have been defined nothing less than "superb", The Tastemakers are one of those up and coming funk bands to look out for if you love the retro sound.

The group's very limited self-produced 7" has been getting increasingly popular within radio and club circuits and is now available for purchase here at the RK website on 7"/Digital Download. From straight-up soul piece "I've Been Waiting" to funky dance-floor numbers "Don't Tell Me" and "Deep Fried Funk", there's no doubt Hannah Williams & The Tastemakers throw down some heavy vibes that are sure to make this single turn into a saught-after rarity in little to no time, so hurry while supplies last! The band is currently busy in the studio and their debut album is expected to drop on Record Kicks next Autumn/Winter, so hold on tight if you're among the many eager to hear more!

Recording with Hannah Williams & The Tastemakers

Frontier Records presents a film about the Soul and Funk band Hannah Williams and The Tastemakers.
Directed by Matt Popay.
With having the brand new tracks up on youtube this short documentary shows how the songs were recorded.

Listen to "Superfunk Deluxe", "Get It", "Do Whatever Makes You Feel Hot" and "Washed Up" on Youtube.

Hannah Williams and The Tastemakers have a lot to look forward in 2011. They're currently being signed to Italian funk label Record Kicks and have more releases and shows coming soon.

"Hannah Williams and The Tastemakers were brought to my attention just after Summer last year, I was told that they're amazing, so I went to go and check out their MySpace and good lord were they right.
I knew I needed to get these guys involved somehow with Frontier and was dying to make them a video."

British Independent Film Awards 2010

On the 5th of December the British Independent Film Awards were hosted by the actor James Nesbitt in London.
I completely missed out on that, because of being busy with Jack The Ripper and other work.
However it seems the The King's Speech was one of the biggie's this year. This film for an Oscar? Looks like it. Also Monsters surprises in many categories...
